3 years today

it was on a beautiful day in july, 3 years ago, that i married the sweetest and most handsome man in the world. i love you more and more each day, adam. happy anniversary.
and in other 'owen news'...he had applesauce for the first time yesterday and it was a big hit.

look who turned six months old today...

yep, thats right...its owens half year birthday today. cant believe it...feeling kinda sad and happy all at the same time. its definitely been bittersweet. loved the newborn stage, but so excited for whats to come.
so here he is...at 6 wonderful months:
-is sitting up on his own for short periods of time.
-is lovin his solids. especially sweet potoatoes and pears.
-is starting to fall into his own little routine. two naps a day in his co-sleeper and three meals a day.
-covers his face with his arm or with his blanket when he is tired.
-has found his thumb.
-is teething...i think.
-can transfer an object from one hand to the next.
-knows that if he shakes his rattle or his little clacker, it will make noise.
-cries if you take away his toy.
-will lunge forward if he wants something.
-wants to touch and grab at EVERYTHING. he has already broken two of mommys ice cream bowls.
-has a thing for pop cans, mommys cell phone, and a certain vanilla candle thats always on the dining room table.
-loves to touch faces. especially his daddys.
-still puts everything in his mouth.
-loves swimming in the pool at grandma bonnie and grandpa dougs.
-watches his "baby moves" baby einstein dvd. thanks grandma jan.
-loves trees and plants and flowers. especially the lilac tree in our backyard. and daddys "prize" hydrangeas.
-is still as smiley as ever. his doctors appointment is on tuesday, so i'll be back then with the update. cant wait to find out how much he has grown.

pears + carrots

owen is still moving right along with his solid foods. we did three days of pears, which adam thinks is owens new favorite, and today he had carrots for the first time...loved those too. hes such a good little eater...not at all picky like his momma.

only a few more to go. applesauce, green beans, and butternut squash. and maybe some peaches, if i can find them.

ogden gardens

the weather today was just perfect for a picnic lunch and some strollin, so adam and i decided to take owen to ogden gardens. he loved being outdoors and wanted to get his hands on everything. (he loooooves plants, trees, and flowers...just like his daddy and grandpa scott.) he was also really intrigued by the pond, and just couldnt keep his eyes off the water. adam enjoyed the japanese garden. (although, he was a bit upset that there wasn't a tree peony.) and i loved taking pics of my two boys in the beautiful outdoor light. heres a few of my favorites...

for all you hp fans

heres a look at what we did yesterday...
...waited and waited in super loooooong lines. first for a bracelet. then to get the book. started in the late afternoon and went into the wee hours of the morning.

icky green peas

owen had tender sweet peas for the first time last night, and we got to see some pretty interesting faces...it was almost like he was trying to blow bubbles with his peas. he must have liked them cause he ate every last bite. i'll spare you the real gross and messy pics and just leave you with these two...
