3 month update

owens 3 months old today...can u believe it!?! he is so alert now and has been learning so much lately. this month has definitely been an adventure!

he smiles and coos all the time, but really puts on a show in the morning. i love spending the whole day with owen, but those smiles really make our mornings special.

he started to play with his hands this month...he is always putting them in his mouth. his grip has gotten stronger and if you put something small in his hand, he can hold onto it now. he also noticed his feet this month, and even though he can't quite reach them yet, its still fun to watch as he checks out his little tootsies. his head has gotten much more steady. it still bobbles around a bit, but its definitely getting stronger. we're still working on tummy time. he doesnt like it too much and most of the time he just cries, but every once in awhile he will surprise you by lifting up his shoulders and head. but only every once in awhile...hes a stubborn little one.


he still enjoys being in his bouncy seat. he looooves to watch the little monkey and frog as they move up and down and side to side. he gets so excited that sometimes i even catch him smiling!


he even started to enjoy his swing this month. i don't think he really cares as much about the swinging part as he does about the overhead mobile, but it will keep his attention for about 10-15 minutes now. he even tries to bat at the little animals.


his chubby little legs must be getting pretty strong, because he has started to push off on them and loves to be in a standing position. hes also kicking his little legs like crazy now.


we've been enjoying the beautiful weather these past couple of weeks, and have been taking walks almost every day. he loves to be outside and seems to like being in his stroller.

his crying comes and goes in spurts. we have good days and then some bad days, but it seems to be getting better. he slept through the night for the first time on april 22/23. we got nine straight hours...woohoo! no such luck on following nights, though. the average is about 4 to 6 hours, which really isn't that bad.

on friday, he had a weight check and he was 14 pounds even...he has a milk belly and lots of cute chubby rolls...which i loooooove!!!



and sadly, owen's aunt crystal and cousin trevor had to go home this weekend. they were here for almost two weeks and we had sooooo much fun. we can't wait for their next visit.

all and all, this month has been pretty fantastic!

heres a few pics from our busy weekend. on saturday, we headed to grovertown to visit with grandpa scott, grandma jan, uncle riley, and uncle jonah. we had a great time chatting and cooking out. owen even got to meet friends, rick and lita. then on sunday we spent the day at our house with grandpa doug, grandma bonnie, aunt crystal, aunt jamie, and cousins trevor, hunter, hope, and faith. we took the little boys out on a walk and watched the older kids play at the park. the weekend was truly a wonderful time spent with family. just wish that uncle mike, aunt kathy, cody, bella, and aidan could have been here too...we are anxiously awaiting your visit over memorial day weekend!

teeny tiny toes

owen found his feet yesterday! it was so cute to watch as he looked them over and tried and tried to get a hold of them...what a fun new discovery for him! cant wait for the day when those teeny tiny toes make their way to his mouth.

11 weeks old

owen's 11 weeks old today! hes been kicking those chubby little legs of his like crazy, so we decided to get him the bigger rainforest play mat...hes been having soooooo much fun with it. everytime he hits or kicks a toy, the music and lights activate, which he loves. heres a couple pics of my little guy enjoying his new play mat.

owen's first easter

here are a few pics of our little guy in his easter outfit and bunny hat. i just couldn't get enough of him in those seersucker pants with that ribbon belt...so so cute!  i hope everyone enjoyed their easter sunday. it was so nice to get together and spend time with family...just wish crystal and kathy's families could have been here, as well. you were missed!

two month update

just thought i'd post an update about owen. hes already nine weeks old and changing everyday. he had his two month appointment last thursday, and everything went great! he weighed 12.6 pounds and was 23.5 inches long. his weight and height were both in the 70th percentile, while his tiny head was only in the 20th.

his crying has really improved over the past two weeks, and we have been having such a fun time together. hes much more alert now and opens his eyes up real big to take everything in. he smiles and coos and loves to play in his bouncy seat. he bats at the toys and can grab onto the rings with his tiny fingers. he has been getting more tummy time and is getting better at holding up his head. and of course he still loves slinging in his peanut shell. its really been a lot of fun to watch as he made new discoveries this past month.
