4 months already...my little owen bug is growing and changing everyday! this month has been an even bigger adventure than the last, and owen hit some really fun and exciting milestones.
the best by far...owen started to laugh. i dont think theres anything more adorable than watching my sweetie husband make my little guy giggle. you can really get a good laugh out of him by giving him nosey kisses, by nuzzling up and kissing his little neck, by giving him zerberts on his naked belly, by gobbling up his little feet, by lifting him up high above your head, or by singing patty cake and the itsy bitsy spider. some days i even get a sweet baby laugh by just kissing him good morning. its the greatest. the very best. i just love being his momma.
then on mothers day, he surprised us all by rolling over from his tummy to his back. what a little show off...making the big move on mothers day. since then, hes rolled over three more times...all on the same day and only when he was on the bed. hes definitley doing better on his tummy...hes getting stronger and doesn't seem to complain quite as much. sometimes we even get a few smiles.
another biggie...hes sleeping through the night. usually we get somewhere between 6 and 9 straight hours. loving that. but sometimes i have to sing twinkle twinkle little star to help him fall asleep.
just recently hes started to lose interest in both his bouncy seat and his swing. his playmat is hit or miss, but he has started to enjoy being in his rainforest jumperoo. he seems to love all of the colorful toys and the lights and music. he cant quite jump yet, but im sure he will be jumping away soon.
he also likes to sit in his bumbo seat. he is always trying to pull himself up to a sitting or standing position. he'll even pull on his carseat straps or on the toys in his bouncy seat to try to get to a sitting position. he is such a strong little guy. and hes still kicking those chubby little legs of his like crazy. sometimes he'll even start stomping his right foot over and over again, which is so so cute. and hes gotten really good at arching his back and pushing off on his feet...he uses this new method to "throw" himslef out of his boppy and to have little baby tantrums. he can no longer be trusted to be by himself...hes on the move!
he is drooling all the time and ALWAYS has his hands in his mouth. he is constantly trying to put everything else in his mouth too...the little ring on his bouncy seat, his blanket, his book. he loves to stick out his tongue and hes become a master at blowing bubbles. really too cute! hes also using both of his hands now to reach out and grab things that we put in front of him.
he statred enjoying his baths and showers this month too. jan's baby book said that adam was a water baby...well, owen must be just like his daddy cause he loves it!
his dotors appointment is on friday... we're really interested to find out if he will be ready for his first cereals, and we're excited to find out his height, weight, and head size. then next thursday he goes for his second round of vaccinations. we're definitely not looking forward to that...the first time was just too sad. of course, you'll get the full update here.
this month has certainly been exciting. its really amazing to see the sense of WONDER and CURIOUSITY that owen has everyday. and its so fun to be a part of his world...to witness all of his new discoveries. nobody could have told me that i would have loved being a mom this much. or that it would be this special!
